Telehealth has been defined by the WHO as the use of telecommunications and virtual technology to deliver healthcare outside of traditional facilities. 1–4 Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, outpatient palliative care visits were usually offered exclusively in-person. Several randomised controlled trials and meta-analyses have demonstrated that this model improves quality of life, satisfaction with care and symptom burden and may extend life expectancy.
